Drift Last updated: April 2026
Drift is a mindfulness app designed to create calm, intentional transitions between daily activities. This privacy policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, and your rights as a user.
1. Data Collected
What we do not collect
Drift does not require user accounts. Drift does not collect email addresses, passwords, or personal identifiers. Drift does not transmit your data to third-party servers for storage or analysis. Drift does not include advertisements or third-party SDKs (analytics, tracking, etc.).
Data stored locally on your device
Your preferences and settings (activities, durations, configurations) are saved locally on your device only, using the app's local storage. This data never leaves your device.
Photo library access
Drift may request access to your photo library only if you choose to select an image to personalise your experience. Selected photos are displayed within the app but are never transmitted or stored by the app outside your device.
Content loaded from the Internet
Drift fetches content (images, quotes, facts, etc.) from public third-party APIs (e.g., animal images, inspirational quotes). This content is retrieved at the time of use and is not linked to your identity. No personal data is sent to these services as part of these requests.
2. Data Retention
All data generated through your use of Drift (preferences, custom activities, selected images) is retained locally on your device for as long as the app remains installed. We do not retain any copy of this data on any server, because we never receive it. No server-side retention period applies, since no remote storage takes place.
3. Data Deletion
You have full control over your data at all times.
There are three ways to delete it:
From within the app: you can remove custom activities, images, and other preferences directly through Drift's settings screens.
Clear app storage: on Android, go to Settings → Apps → Drift → Storage → Clear data. This wipes all your local preferences and images without uninstalling the app.
Uninstall the app: uninstalling Drift immediately and completely removes all data stored locally on your device. No request to us is required: these device-level actions are sufficient to delete your data entirely, since we hold no copy of it.
4. Data Sharing
